Terms of use
Short, and in the order in which they concern you: what Doggl is, what you put into it, what isn’t allowed — and what happens when someone doesn’t stick to it.
This is a translation of the German terms of use. Should they ever differ, the German version applies.
1. Who provides what
Doggl is provided by S2OK Studios UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (see legal notice). Doggl is an iPhone app that lets you conquer a playing area on a map while walking your dog, collect medals, challenge other dogs to a duel and add hazards and helpful spots for other dog owners. Using it is free of charge.
By signing in, you accept these terms.
2. Account
To look at the map, the anonymous account created on first launch is enough. To play, you sign in with your Apple ID and choose a dog’s name and a username. You are responsible for everything that happens through your account.
You can delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend or delete an account if these terms are breached.
3. Content that comes from users
Doggl contains content that others see: the dog’s profile photo, the dog’s name and the map points someone reports. The following applies to this content:
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. Anyone who posts such content or harasses other users loses access — without warning and without any claim to reinstatement.
In particular, the following must not be posted:
- depictions of violence, pornography, animal cruelty,
- insulting, defamatory, discriminatory or hateful content,
- pictures of people who have not agreed to it, and pictures of children,
- content to which someone else holds the rights,
- advertising, chain and bulk messages,
- personal data of third parties — names, addresses, number plates.
You keep the rights to your pictures. You grant us the simple right to store them within the app and to display them wherever you have shared them. This ends when you delete them.
4. Map points: a report is not an opinion
A hazard report is a statement about the world that others rely on. Only report what you have seen yourself, and only confirm what you have checked yourself. False reports — even as a joke — undermine the map and lead to suspension.
Don’t rely on the map alone. It shows what users have reported and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. A missing point does not mean there is nothing there.
5. Reporting and blocking
Every other dog’s profile and every leaderboard row can be reported in the app, and the dog behind it blocked; blocked dogs disappear from your views and can be unblocked again in the settings.
We look at reported content and remove it if it breaches these terms — usually within 24 hours. If you notice something the report button doesn’t cover, write to support@doggl.app.
6. On the road, the rules of the road apply
Doggl is a game. It is no substitute for paying attention: watch the path and your dog, not your phone. Don’t enter private property, railway tracks, building sites or nature reserves just to get a cell — no square on this map is worth it.
7. What we promise and what we don’t
We do our best to keep Doggl running, but we do not owe permanent availability. Maintenance, outages and changes to the game are possible; game progress, cells, medals and duel results are not assets and cannot be paid out or transferred.
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health. In cases of simple negligence, we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations, limited to the damage typical for this kind of contract and foreseeable. Claims under the German Product Liability Act remain unaffected.
8. Changes and final provisions
We may change these terms if the app changes or if the law requires it; the amended version is published at this address. Anyone who does not agree can delete their account.
German law applies. If the user is a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of their country of residence remain unaffected.
